Meet Silja

I am a qualified counsellor and a member of BACP. I am also an accredited coach with the International Coaching Federation.

My approach is for clients to feel seen and understood and for us to collaborate to understand what is happening for you and to explore what this means for you so that you can increase your self-acceptance self-compassion as these can help us to grow and make new choices.

I seek to help you to access compassion and acceptance to help you find respite and new ways of looking at the challenges that life can bring for us.

Our work together can be short term or long term depending upon what is most suitable for you.

We could focus on what is challenging right now and ways to help you manage in the moment and stay regulated and/or we could also look at the impact of past relational and other experiences to identify how these could be shaping your feelings today to enable you to make different choices.

I suggest we have an initial 15 minute call (free and no obligation) so that you can share more about what you are hoping for from counselling and we can discuss how we would work together.

My areas of specialism include working with anxiety, depression, addictions, attachment difficulties, trauma including domestic and sexual abuse, post traumatic stress including panic attacks, bereavement and loss, and relationship difficulties.

I work in English and also Finnish.
