Counselling
I am an experienced qualified counsellor registered with BACP.
My clients are seeking lasting growth or healing or to manage particular challenges they are facing.
I have worked within community counselling practices, within the NHS supporting clients experiencing addiction as well as in specialist services supporting those with complex grief or loss as well as working with neurodivergent clients and parents and carers of children with additional support needs.
What are my specialisms?
I specialise in supporting anxiety, depression, grief and loss, including complex or traumatic loss, trauma, including ongoing and past trauma, the impacts of abuse or addiction, behavioural addictions, and addressing difficulties due to attachment.
How do I work?
I work on a short-term basis for, say, 12 sessions, for those clients seeking to stabilise and develop the skills to feel steady even during difficult times.
Many of my clients are seeking long-term therapy to address the impacts of trauma and attachment difficulties in a deeper and more lasting way.
Qualifications
I have a Masters in Integrative Therapy and have trained in cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centered and psychodynamic therapy as well as acceptance and commitment therapy, and compassion focussed therapy. I have also trained with the National Autistic Society and the ADD Coaching Academy to support neurodivergent clients. My area of research focus is the experiences of neurodivergent clients in therapy.
